The emissions associated with the process of recycling different car and truck tires were analyzed by the Department of Sustainable Development and Environment and verified by the Bureau de Normalisation du Quebec (BNQ).

The methodology used for the project was based on a study by the American Institute at the Environmental Protection Agency called Solid Waste Management and Greenhouse Gases: A Life Cycle Assessment of Emissions and Sinks. Actual quantification of the emission reductions has been done in accordance with ISO 14064-2.
